Step inside St. Thomas Tower (built in 1614) as it reopens after a major restoration—now transformed into an immersive experience on pirates, corsairs, and Malta’s coastal defence. Clare joins Chairperson of Fondazzjoni Wirt Artna, Mario Farrugia to explore the Knights’ largest tower, complete with moat, bridge, chapel, roof views over St. Thomas Bay and Marsascala, and the original cannon positions and powder turrets. Inside, interactive audiovisual exhibits bring history to life—especially for kids—while displays of weapons and ship models reveal how “licensed pirates” operated and how Maltese communities even invested in corsairing. History, action, and jaw-dropping views in one visit! --- Find out more about The Local Traveller on Facebook: www.facebook.com/thelocaltravellermalta Instagram: www.instagram.com/thelocaltraveller_malta ---- The Local Traveller follows Clare Agius as she explores Malta and Gozo in search for their many hidden gems.
