Thousands of devotees gathered at the shrine to witness the rituals and seek blessings of the presiding deity. According to temple traditions, Maa Mangala is believed to have appeared from the holy Prachi River, on whose banks the temple is situated. During the rituals, after receiving the goddess’s Ajnamala (divine permission), temple servitors performed ceremonial rites and replaced the old eyes of the deity with newly prepared white eyes after ritual bathing of the Neela Chakra with sacred items like turmeric and holy water. Devotees thronged the temple premises from early morning to witness the sacred ceremony. On this occasion, Ghanta Patuas from Sarala Peeth performed traditional devotional dances in front of the goddess after collecting water from the Prachi River. Women devotees in towns and villages also began observing the first Pali Panthoi Osha vow dedicated to Maa Mangala, marking the start of Chaitra religious observances with great devotion and celebration.
