This presentation will review characteristics of the nine fetal cardiac views automatically generated and displayed by the Fetal Intelligent Navigation Echocardiography (FINE) method. These nine views are displayed together in a single template, and are known as DIAGNOSTIC PLANES. Successful display of fetal cardiac views can occur despite different gestational ages, and in the presence of anatomic variability. Here, we also review the "knobology" for viewing and assessing the cardiac diagnostic planes. FINE is a novel sonographic method to examine the fetal heart. This method automatically generates and displays nine standard fetal cardiac views simultaneously. It simplifies the fetal cardiac examination, shortens examination time, and reduces operator dependency. FINE has recently been shown to have high sensitivity (98%) and specificity (93%) for the detection of congenital heart disease.
