15_VIS-ASSISTANCE PART 1: WHAT IS IT ?

In PART 1 (of four presentations), we introduce the novel technology known as VIS-Assistance® (Virtual Intelligent Sonographer Assistance), as well as its objectives. Since this is one of the most important and essential tools of Fetal Intelligent Navigation Echocardiography (FINE), it is worthwhile learning all about this technology. VIS-Assistance® is an operator independent tool that allows AUTOMATIC sonographic navigation and exploration of surrounding structures in each of the nine cardiac views. It essentially functions as a "virtual sonographer" (in the form of video clips) to intelligently assist you in examining the fetal heart. To learn more, please be sure to also watch the other three presentations (PARTS 2, 3, 4) on VIS-Assistance®. FINE is a novel sonographic method to examine the fetal heart. This method automatically generates and displays nine standard fetal cardiac views simultaneously. It simplifies the fetal cardiac examination, shortens examination time, and reduces operator dependency. FINE has recently been shown to have high sensitivity (98%) and specificity (93%) for the detection of congenital heart disease.
