This is my first day on my trip to Everest Base Camp. I start at 4am by taking a taxi from Thamel in Kathmandu to Chabahil Chawk and hire a 12 hour jeep for 1600 Nepali rupees (About $14 USD) to Salleri which is a 3 to 4 day trek to Lukla where most people usually fly in to trek to Everest Base Camp.
