My first long form series! I'm going to be looking at and appreciating the last 25 years of video game graphics history, and for fun, ranking the best looking games from EACH year based on their artistry and graphics. I'm also going to give my thoughts on each game, based on how good they loo, how they use the tech, and how they hold up - in everyone's favourite form: the tier list. I'm Ben, a professional video game environment artist. I've been working in industry for 8 years, at a lot of big studios. I’ve shipped AAA titles across the industry, from Call of Duty at Infinity Ward to the World Rally Championship games at Codemasters and worked at Wargaming, and Lightspeed LA. My channel pulls back the curtain on how real video game dev pros think about and create art for video games. I've built a career at home in the UK, and had the privilege to move abroad to Los Angeles, and work at the biggest studios in the world in the USA. My mission is to educate the world on what it means to be an environment artist, and how video game art isn't just about graphics and assets.
