The Best View Of The Sleeping Giant - From 1585 Feet! Mount McKay and Sleeping Giant Provincial Park

For the best views of the Sleeping Giant rock formation in Thunder Bay, Ontario, travel just a few minutes west of the city to the Fort William First Nation Reservation. From there, you can hike to the top of Mount McKay for a breathtaking view of both the city of Thunder Bay, as well as looking out onto Lake Superior towards the Sleeping Giant - part of Sleeping Giant Provincial Park. Mount McKay is located on the reservation, but it is open to the public. There is a small fee to pay, and there is ample parking at the base of the mountain. The hike to the top is classed as difficult, it is very steep and quite challenging, but the views from the top are simply amazing!
