Fun to make and fun to decorate, these Valentine’s sugar cookies are perfect for sending a special message to everyone you love. Prep Time: 20 minutes Cook Time: 15 minutes Total Time: 35 minutes (+ 30 minutes cooling time) Makes: 12 servings Ingredients: 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour 3 tbsp cornstarch 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/4 tsp salt 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature 1/2 cup granulated sugar 1 egg 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 pkg (1 1/2 oz) White Chocolate Cheesecake M&M’s Cream Cheese Frosting: 6 oz brick-style plain cream cheese, at room temperature 2 tbsp butter, at room temperature 1/2 cup icing sugar, sifted 1 tsp vanilla extract 2 tubes red icing 1 tube pink icing Instructions: 1. In bowl, whisk together flour, cornstarch, baking powder and salt. In separate large bowl and using electric mixer, beat butter with sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg and vanilla until blended. 2. Slowly beat flour mixture into egg mixture until fully incorporated. Shape dough into large disk; wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. 3. Preheat oven to 350F. On lightly floured surface, roll out dough into 1/4-inch thickness. Using 4-inch heart cookie cutter, cut out 12 hearts, rerolling scraps as needed (reserve any remaining dough for another use). Transfer hearts to parchment paper¬–lined baking sheet, spacing about 2 inches apart. 4. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until lightly golden at edges. Let cool completely on rack. 5. Cream Cheese Frosting: Beat cream cheese until light and fluffy; beat in butter until blended. Beat in icing sugar and vanilla. 6. Using red icing, pipe “BE MINE” in center of each cookie. Decorate with White Chocolate Cheesecake M&M’s, and red and pink icing. Tip: Write a personalized message on cookies if desired!
