Thank you for watching! Recently, I realised that some people believe thag Sashiko has to be stitched in a very specific way. It’s very much understandable as there may not be many reliable information sources in their language. It’s fine to follow specific instructions in your books, but i just wanted to explain that setting up ‘rules’ and excluding others can deny Sashiko from certain regions or Sashiko from the past which were stitched out of necessity. You may see intersecting stitches and stitches far apart (in fact, sometimes stitches are very short on the right side so they are not too visible), but they are Sashiko. I'm not a Sashiko teacher but a Sashiko enthusiast. I've been learning about Sashiko through Japanese Sashiko books published from 70's to 2000's, Sashiko books and booklets which I obtained from those regions of traditional Sashiko, museum exhibition catalogs about Sashiko and fabric in Japan, and other books about the history and culture around Sashiko, clothing and fabric in Japan. There are a lot of things I don't know and I'm still exploring. As I've been asked by many viewers to provide information about brand names to certain items I use, I have created some lists on Amazon US. I hope this will help! https://www.amazon.com/shop/thegreenw... *As an Amazon Associate, I earn from qualifying purchases.当チャンネルは、Amazonアソシエイトとして、適格販売により収益を得ています。* Please support this channel by watching, liking and subscribing!
