The city of Jalajil is located in the Riyadh region to the north neighboring the city of Majmaah and is 175 km from Riyadh. It is bordered to the north by the city of Majmaah and to the south by Rawdat Sudair and to the east by the Riyadh-Qassim Highway and to the west by the Tuwaiq mountain range. Taking the name of Jalajil from the Jaljal of water, which is the purl of water and moving it between the rocks of the valleys. Most of the narrations indicate that the first people who inhabited Jalajil were the Banu al-Anbar from tribe of Tamim, and then they migrated from it because of migration of the Bani Tamim in the Umayyad era, when the Islamic state expanded and moved to the cities. Another reason was the number of wars which were fought mainly over the water resources of the area. It was rebuilt in the seventh century after hijrah. The city is still known for agriculture, however, inhabitants are also engaged in commerce and government businesses in the present time. The city of Jalajil, like the rest of the cities of the Kingdom, has also witnessed a wide and rapid development in all aspects of life including tourism. Many beautiful parks and dams have been constructed in the city to provide the leisure time activities to the residents of the city and to store the rain water for agricultural production respectively. Waterfall park is the biggest and most beautiful parks in the town. The park is given this name as there’s an artificial waterfall which has been constructed in the center of park and runs through the mountains and creates beautiful sceneries. There’re many fountains have also been constructed in the parks and on the roundabouts. King Abdullah is another beautiful park on the road which links Jalajil with Riyadh-Qassim highway. Many historical monuments have been constructed on top of the mountains which compel the visitors to make an stop over there.
