Video created by Northumberland Snapper: https://northumberlandsnapper.blogspo... Please remember to subscribe if you like our videos. Filmed on 14th April 2022. Another unusual working today with train 3F01, the 1114 Glen Douglas Mod Gbrf to Kineton Mod Gbrf, running down the West Coast Main Line. MOD Glen Douglas is a large munitions storage facility in Argyll and Bute - reputedly the largest such facility in western Europe. There they store all manner of munitions and explosives used by Britain's armed forces. I noticed the empty train moving from Carlisle New Yard to Glen Douglas early this morning, so figured there would have to be a return journey that I was able to film. This is a pretty unusual working. For all it is pathed Thursday every week, it actually runs a lot less frequently than that. Hopefully someone will be kind enough to let me know in the comments, but I think every month or two would be about the right frequency. The train was hauled by GB Railfreight's 66738 "Huddersfield Town" and consisted of a mixed rake of wagons, many of which were marked up with explosive hazard symbols. After its arrival at Kineton, its possible that some of these munitions might be winging their way to help the war effort in Ukraine.
