Egg Shape, Weight, Strength and Appearance tells alot about Hen Health and Our Management Practices in the Poultry Farming Business. Pullets Reaching Early Maturity will Lay Small Eggs Because of Improper Lighting Schedule or Imbalanced Chicken Feed. Lack of Calcium or Any Disease will Cause Weak Shell Eggs and Late Eggs Collection results in Dirty Egg shells and These are Not Good for Hatching Purposes. This Video is about Common Egg Quality Problems, Causes and Solutions by Dr. ARSHAD. White Banded Eggs are the Result of Two eggs entering and making contact with each other in the Shell Bland Pouch. When this Happens Normal calcification is interrupted and the first egg that entered the Pouch will Get an Extra Layer of Calcium. Main Cause are Stress in the Flock, Sudden Change in Lighting and Diseases such as Infectious Bronchitis. Blood on Egg Shell can be anywhere from a Fee Spots to a Smear to an alarming amount of Blood. Causes are small Blood vessels ruptured, Cannibalism, Vent Pecking, sudden big deal increase in the Length of Daylight & Mite or Lice infestation around the Vent. Shells of Body Checked Eggs often Got Cracked during the Calcification process and had a Layer of Calcium deposited over the Crack before the Egg was Laid. Main causes of Body Checks are Stress, Overcrowding and Hen's Age. Broken and Mended egg shell got cracked during the Calcification process and Mended just Before being laid. The Main Causes are Stress, Frights Disturbance during the Calcification process. Misshapen or Odd Shaped Eggs differ from the Normal Shape and the Size can be either too Small, Too large, Round instead of Oval or has Major Changes in the Shape. Shapes cas range from Minor, barely noticeable to Grossly misshaped. Causes are immature Shell Gland ( Young Layers ), defective shell glands, Infectious Bronchitis, Stress, Frights or Disturbances & Overcrowding in the Coop.
