In today’s Hokkaido trip vlog, we’re in Toya, a popular onsen resort, to see the beautiful Lake Toya and its free foot baths formed by volcanic activity in the area, as well as checking out the local art installations in the volcanic eruption memorial park, and of course trying more of Hokkaido’s must eat food! We tried a unique deep fried sweet potato snack called Wakasaimo, made with locally grown white beans and kelp and a secret recipe to replicate the taste of yakiimo (baked sweet potato), and ate some delicious Hokkaido ice cream fresh from Lake Hill Farm with views of Hokkaido’s mini Mt. Fuji called Mt. Yotei. Wakasaimo is one of the foods you have to try if you visit Lake Toya and makes a great souvenir for friends, family, and coworkers, and since Japan’s northernmost prefecture is famous for its dairy farms and delicious milk products, you can’t visit Hokkaido without a farm trip to try fresh Hokkaido ice cream (and to see Yuki the goat of course!), so come along with us for a trip and a footbath dip! 📍Locations: Lake Toya Wakasaimo Honpo Lake Toya main store Toron Foot Spa Mount Usu Eruption Memorial Park Lake Hill Farm Shikotsu Toya National Park Silo Observatory ____________________________________________________ Who are OshareJapan?
