You can still save lives during the COVID-19 pandemic by doing CPR but you can also take steps to minimise any risk of cross infection. Let me show you how... NB I am teaching as per the advice from the UK Resuscitation Council (https://www.resus.org.uk/media/statem...) but as with all first aid and especially with the rapidly-changing nature of this pandemic and our understanding of it, such advice might well change so please do ensure you are familiar with the latest guidelines. Remember that early CPR and defibrillation is a proven way of saving lives! About Pint of Life Pint of Life is an initiative which teaches free CPR, defibrillation and first aid skills to local communities. Having volunteered with both St John Ambulance and the local ambulance service for many years, I wanted to expand my work and now give sessions to local communities at no cost. The idea behind Pint of Life is to introduce a greater awareness of essential first aid into the heart of the community but also to do so in a way that resonates with local concerns. For more information and to find out about arranging your own free Pint of Life session, please visit www.pintoflife.org. Disclaimer The information presented here, and any views expressed in this and any other Pint of Life videos do not constitute medical, legal or professional advice and should not be relied upon as such. Though Pint of Life endeavours to ensure that the content of this video and any guidance is up to date, it may not always reflect the most current developments particularly in view of the fast-changing nature of medical research. Furthermore, CPR and resuscitation guidelines are based on those issued by the UK Resuscitation Council. These might differ to those issued and enforced in different geographies. Pint of Life aims to offer free basic training on first aid and whilst this is often perfectly sufficient for first aid situations, it is not designed for or suitable as a replacement for professional, accredited training. We therefore encourage all visitors to undertake a certificated first aid course such as those offered by St John Ambulance, the British Red Cross and many local ambulance services.
