Aberlady Harbour on the East coast of Scotland.

Today’s video is looking at the history behind Aberlady harbour. It was an active harbour as early as 1149. On this sandy shoreline on the East coast was one of the few places where trading vessels of the day could come close to shore for loading and unloading cargo. In the Middle Ages the harbours safe anchorage rendered it an exceptionally important centre, not only for the region but for Scotland too.
