** UPDATE: Stay tuned for Part 3 where I show some wasabi plant troubleshooting and some things I've learned and changed along the way. Mainly the initial growing medium mixture I used allowed too much moisture so I changed to 100% pea rock pebbles. For the most part all other variables discussed in Part 1 have remained the same. I've taken out the main initial wasabi rhizome and found after inspection there was some water damage to the main rhizome. It did produce two baby rhizomes that I've moved to complete pea rock pebbles. These pea pebbles allow for rapid drainage so will see how these little rhizomes do. This little plant is challenging, although it's fun and I'm learning more and more how it wants to grow. All this and more in Part 3 coming soon. :) ** This is part 2 of my "Growing Wasabi at Home" series. Theres been some really good growth and the rhizome is forming well and is a beautiful light green color. Once the wasabi plant is well rooted in I will transfer it to a larger pot. That should be fun! I hope to continue the positive progress and look forward to documenting this project further. Thank you for watching and please subscribe to see more videos on this Wasabi series as well as other garden projects i'm working on. :) email: [email protected]
