MACS: Monitoring Action for Civic Space is a framework that monitors civic freedoms across EU countries. Its ultimate goal is to provide nuanced information to help civil society organisations and the EU respond to threats effectively and promptly. Simona Constantinescu, the Head of Development and Advocacy of FDSC Romania, explains how public distrust in the electoral process and the justice system, challenged civil society actors in holding Romanian institutions accountable.
