In this video lesson, Cynthia Allen shows you a simple Shoulder Tension Exercises through Feldenkrais in a seated position. It’s a quick exercise where the shoulder is taken lightly up and down and coordinated with the head/neck. Cynthia Allen, Feldenkrais Practitioner, guides you on this journey. This is the first video in a series of beginning lessons on Feldenkrais Exercises for Shoulders. Timestamps: 0:00 - Start 1:10 - Start by closing your eyes, feeling into your bottom on the chair. 1:32 - Then feel where your right shoulder is out in space. 1:46 - Feel where your shoulder blade feels like it hangs or rests. 1:58 - Compare it to the left. 3:15 - Begin to choose one shoulder you want to improve. 3:20 - Take that shoulder and slide that shoulder up towards your ear. 3:26 - Slowly let it return to where it came from, slide it up towards the ear and let it return in a nice slow manner. 5:08 - Make half the amount of effort. 5:25 - Decrease one quarter amount of the effort. 7:00 - Connect the two amounts from both shoulders. 7:42 - Pause for a moment and feel what’s the distance between that ear in the shoulder compared to earlier. 8:14 - Tilt the head so that the eyeball could see the shoulder. 9:30 - Feel the difference. 10:15 - Do the other side.
