Focus, you can do this.  Just meditate.  Stop fidgeting and sit still. Focus.  Breathe. Gah! What is that noise? It’s so distracting.  Stop it!  Just focus, will you?! This was my first experience with mediation, this self-criticising conversation in my head. Every time I tried to meditate, I couldn’t stop the constant dialogue that would inevitably distract me from my purpose. Eventually, I gave up. Why bother?
