Shirley Bassey - Here are four songs from Shirley's 1965 concert appearance at The Pigalle Club in London. Although Shirley can sing any genre of music and has sold a ton of records because of this, she has always loved live performances and the Night Club scene. Her dynamic vocals are perfect for this style of music. This clip includes the following four songs: 1) You'd Better Love Me 2) The Other Woman 3) Somewhere (From West Side Story) 4) On A Wonderful Day Like Today One year later in 1966, Shirley Bassey sang most of the songs from this recording on one of her TV Specials, called 'Show Of The Week. ABOUT the Pigalle Club: The Pigalle Club was a supper club and live music venue in Piccadilly, London, owned by John Vincent Power. Dave West also owned shares in The Pigalle Club. The venue was featured in Britain's Next Top Model, Cycle 3, during the fourth week the contestants had to perform stand-up comedy at the venue as part of a challenge. It closed in 2012. You'd Better Love Me (While You May) Lyrics: You'd better love me while you may Tomorrow I may fly away I want your gentle touch Your continental touch Your elemental touch You want me too Oh, I know that you do You'd better love me while I'm here I have been known to disappear So, don't let this miracle melt away The clock ticks fast above me If you think fondly of me You'd better love me while you may I want your gentle touch Your continental touch Your elemental touch You want me too Oh, I know that you do You'd better love me while I'm here I have been known to disappear So, don't let this miracle melt away The clock ticks fast above me If you think fondly of me You'd better love me while you may The Other Woman Lyrics: The other woman finds time to manicure her nails The other woman is perfect where her rival fails And she's never seen with pin curls in her hair The other woman enchants her clothes with French perfume The other woman keeps fresh cut flowers in each room There are never toys that's scattered everywhere And when her man comes to call Hell find her waiting like a lonesome queen 'Cause when she's by his side It's such a change from old routine But the other woman will always cry herself to sleep The other woman will never have his love to keep And as the years go by the other woman will spend her life alone But the other woman will always cry herself to sleep The other woman will never have his love to keep And as the years go by the other woman will spend her life alone On A Wonderful Day Like Today Lyrics: On a wonderful day like today I defy any cloud to appear in the sky Dare any rain drop to plop in my eye On a wonderful day like today On a wonderful morning like this When the sun is as big as a yellow balloon Even the sparrows are singing in tune On a wonderful morning like this On a morning like this I could kiss everybody I'm so full of love and goodwill Let me say furthermore I'd adore everybody to come and dine The pleasure's mine and I will pay the bill May I take this occasion to say That the whole human race should go down on its knees Show that we're grateful for mornings like these For the world's in a wonderful way On a wonderful day like today On a morning like this I could kiss everybody I'm so full of love and goodwill Let me say furthermore I'd adore everybody to come and dine The pleasure's mine and I will pay the bill May I take this occasion to say That the whole human race should go down on its knees Show that we're grateful for mornings like these For the world's in a wonderful way On a wonderful day like today Special Thanks to Pieter, Astrid and others from the Shirley Bassey blog, and all those who have contributed wonderful pictures of Shirley!
