Here is "Lolita Ya-Ya," one of many songs by The Ventures with David Gates on bass and Billy Strange on guitar. Nelson Riddle wrote the music with lyrics by Bob Harris wrote it and it was in the 1962 film Lolita and was released on a Capitol single by Nelson Riddle in April, 1962. The Ventures recorded it late in the afternoon June 25, 1962 with Ventures guitarist Bob Bogle leading the session with Ventures drummer Mel Taylor, who contracted David Gates as bass player, and Billy Strange as guitarist. Jazz trumpeter Hank Levine was also brought in. "Lolita Ya-Ya" was a track on The Ventures album Going To The Ventures Dance Party! That album included several songs that Gates and Strange played on.
