Panzer Dragoon - The Empire (Remix Sketch)

After having just recently played through the Switch remake of the original Panzer Dragoon, I was reminded of how much I loved that game when I came out, and how impressive it was back in 1995. This was one of the first CD-based games I ever played, and back then the idea of game audio which wasn't limited by the constraints of cartridge sizes and primitive synthesizer technology was a novel, exciting thing. The Panzer Dragoon soundtrack had a few truly memorable moments - its title theme chief among them - but some other pieces that just worked well as background music. "The Empire" was one of those songs. For this sketch I decided to make something a little synth wavy(?) I can't say it fits too closely into that genre because I only discovered it being an actual genre about a year ago, and I'm far from an expert in its trappings. The driving bass, slower tempo, and use of synth leads in a song that slowly builds instead of changing and evolving were elements I decided to incorporate into this one. As a result, like the original, I think it can work pretty well as a mood piece or background song on its own. Enjoy!
