Most people who live in Taiwan for any amount of time have walked the Caoling Ancient Trail (草嶺古道), a relaxed yet beautiful old path located on Taiwan’s North East corner, but not many have walked to Daxi Fulong Traverse (大溪福隆縱走). This roughly 17km trail runs from Daxi (大溪) in Yilan, taking you along a glorious ridge with amazing views of Taiwan’s beautiful coastline before joining up with the Caoling Trail to take you down into the beach town of Fulong (福隆). An unforgettable trail with beautiful scenery, it really is a must do for any serious hiker in Taiwan - just try to avoid doing it in summer!
