Building Midcentury Modern Shelves...and a WEIGHT TEST!

These mid-century modern bookshelves turned out absolutely incredible! This video shows you exactly how to build your own contemporary bookshelf unit. I show step by step on to create mid-century modern bookshelf brackets out of walnut. This is the type of woodworking project that I love. This wooden bookshelf system can be customized to various configurations to fit perfectly in any space. I also show just how strong these bookshelf brackets are by conducting a stress test of the woodworking joinery. The results were pretty unbelievable. Additionally, I give a great tip on an easy way to hang wooden shelves on the wall. I knew that I wanted bookshelves for my home office. I also wanted to challenge my design abilities and make something that I don’t commonly build. As I started designing my bookshelf, it sort of turned into something with a contemporary look. It wasn’t my intention to make bookshelves with a mid century modern flare, but you have to let the design lead you. I’m so glad that I did because I love the look! This gives my home office a minimalist feel and helps with my office organization.
