That’s what happened to us, when we started preparing everything for our hiking trip. 10 days? Through the Himalayas? Why the hell would anyone do that voluntarily? Especially after we took a closer look at the “time table” of our hike to Annapurna Basecamp (which we should have done before we booked, we know 🙈) More than 1000 meters up up up for 3 days straight? Like..why? How? And then, just as we found enough confidence, just as we talked ourselves enough into it, the big C 🦠 hit us (ever got tested positive in a hotel room right before you’re supposed to go hiking for 10 days? I can’t recommend that.) And the problem about this stupid virus is, that you just don’t know. So there we were - not sure of what to do and what to except and what to feel. But we’ve decided to try.. what’s the worse that could happen, ha? So we started walking. Well, to be exact: six people did. Us two, Peter from Germany, Dinesh (our tour guide) and our two porters, Kamal and Gonesh. And only a few hours in, this decision turned out to be a really good one. We were constantly amazed by the beautiful scenery, by the cultur, by the temples, by the mountains and by the people. Nepali are the most welcoming, friendly, thoughtful, calm and grounded ppl we’ve ever met and the strength of them is something else (seriously - when you see the ppl there carrying rice bags in a basket with one strap on the forehead up these hills, you’ve seen it all). So here are 18 days in Nepal, 10 days in the Himalayas, 100 km, 8000 meters up and 8500 meters down squeezed into 36 minutes - unfiltered. We hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
