Can you identify this aircraft?

Not many can. It is an Aero Commander 200D. The original aircraft design is the Meyers 200. This 1966 model is legendary for its speed and toughness. The frame includes a race car-type steel cage that protects the occupants in case of an off-field landing. Powered by a Continental IO 520, this aircraft was built in the 1950s and 1960s. Aero Commander purchased the rights to it and tried to make money building it. But the time and effort required to make such a strong and speedy machine proved to be too costly to make a profit. Thanks to Patrick for letting me photograph this hot rod. If you ever see one of the old James Bond movies (You Only Live Twice), you will see the Meyers in all her glory. Al Meyers knew how to build airplanes. The owners of Meyers aircraft are a tight-knit group. They are fanatically loyal to this fine piece of engineering. The pilots look out for each other and their race cars with wings.
