A Month In Rocklands with Kyra Condie

Presented by Ocun: Engineered for Climbing Ocun’s crash pads are some of the best and lightest on the market, making them the perfect pad to travel across the world with 🫶🏼 This past summer marked my fourth season climbing in Rocklands, South Africa. South Africa is the definition of a climbing paradise tucked into the Cederberg Mountains. Going into the trip, my goal was simple. I wanted to find a project that inspired me to really invest my time and energy for, but in classic Rocklands fashion, I was distracted by the thousands of options and psych pulling in every direction. I ended up leaving with more projects than I sent, but still walked away with a solid tick list. I also had a small detour into Cape Town to compete at a comp at the new bouldering gym, Kragsentrale, and get to see the local climbing scene!! Produced, shot, and directed by Carlos Mason, we also wanted to capture some of my favorite non-climbing moments in Rocklands—the dogs at the the hen house (one of the main rest day hangs), the local fish fry by the ocean, cooking over an open fire with friends, and drinking wine and playing board games. It’s those in-between moments that keep me coming back, just as much as the world-class rock.
