Some traders at the bustling Owode Market in Offa, Kwara State, were all smiles on Wednesday as they received cash gifts of ₦20,000 each and customized aprons from a lover and well-wisher acting on behalf of Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu Agaka, the Dan-Iyan N’geri of the Ilorin Emirate. The donation, aimed at supporting the traders’ local businesses, was coordinated by the benefactor’s representatives — Tajudeen Hammed Anderson, Nafisat Damilola Muftau (popularly known as Efissy Mama), Comrade Taofeeq Abdulazeez, and the duo of Mayokun Kehinde and Mayowa Taye Muftau. The presentation, held at the Owode Market earlier in the day, attracted a cheerful crowd as beneficiaries expressed heartfelt gratitude for the timely support, describing it as a blessing amid the nation’s harsh economic realities. Speaking on behalf of the well-wisher, Efissy Mama explained that the financial support was a gesture of love and goodwill on behalf of Engr. Kawu-Agaka. “Even though he is not physically present, his heart remains with the people. This act symbolizes his belief that kindness, no matter how small, can create meaningful change — a value shared by Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu Agaka,” she said. Market leaders also hailed the donation, describing it as a noble gesture that demonstrates Engr. Kawu-Agaka’s enduring commitment to community growth and social responsibility. Engr. Sulaiman Bolakale Kawu Agaka, fondly called Kale Kawu, is a distinguished engineer and administrator from Ilorin. He hails from the royal Agaka family and is the son of the late Alhaji Ibrahim Folorunsho Kawu Agaka, the first Dan-Iyan of Ilorin Emirate. Traders and residents of Offa who witnessed Wednesday’s disbursement prayed for continued blessings upon both the well-wisher and Engr. Kawu-Agaka, noting that such acts of compassion remain vital in supporting local businesses and building stronger, more caring communities.
