Date filmed: 04/07/2019 Route: Grain Branch Line (Hundred of Hoo Railway) Closest timing point (Cliffe Signal NK509) (on Realtime Trains) Location: Wybournes Lane, High Halstow Trains: Class 66 (Freightliner) - 0:59 A rather rare open (un-gated) level crossing located on a very narrow dead-end Wybournes Lane in High Halstow, North Kent. The alarms here are very loud and rather screamy despite how quiet the surroundings are and there are four LED wigwags here with St. Andrews Cross signage above each, and the wigwag on the left in this video has a very wonky right hand red shade. There are also two floodlights (one for each direction) that illuminate when the crossing is active to show trains that the crossing is working as it should, working along side a total of two LED drivers' crossing indicators. This level crossing is on the Grain Branch Line, which is typically used exclusively by a handful of freight trains per day, so this level crossing isn't the easiest to catch, but it's quite nice and worth it when you eventually do. Thanks for watching!
