Cypripedium yunnanense is rare and very local with a scattered and restricted distribution to southwest and west Sichuan, northwest Yunnan and southeast Xizang in China. The trend of the population is decreasing, the species occurs as solitary plants or in small groups, the total number of mature individuals is estimated to be less than 2,500 with extreme fluctuations and the abundance of the species has been significantly reduced during the recent decades due to many threats especially collection, trampling, weak recovery, ecological disturbance, deforestation, tourism, exploitation for horticultural and infrastructure development. Cypripedium calcicola is rare and very localized with a scattered and restricted distribution to northwesternYunnan, Sichuan and Shaanxi, China. The trend of the population is decreasing, the number of mature individuals is low and the abundance of the species has been significantly reduced in recent decades due to many threats especially collection, trampling, weak recovery, ecological disturbance, deforestation, tourism, exploitation for horticultural and infrastructure development. The estimated area of occupancy of the species is between 136 and 250 km2 with an estimated continuing decline in the range, the number of mature individuals and the quality of habitats in the three locations. Therefore, C. calcicola is assessed as Endangered (EN). Cypripedium tibeticum is a local species with a scattered populations, mostly in small colonies but sometimes with very large colonies. Although C. tibeticum is under numerous threats especially overgrazing, ruthless collection, habitat loss and disturbance of its restricted range due to trampling, deforestation, clear-cutting, logging practices and climate change, these threats are unlikely to cause the population to decline very quickly in the near future. Therefore given its wide range, C. tibeticum is assessed as Least Concern (LC). [http://www.iucnredlist.org/]
