Pete (aka 'Fruit') and Sally (aka 'Nut') embark on a fresh surge of tree planting on their 4-acre patch in Puglia, Southern Italy. It's not as easy as it sounds because of the level of bedrock being so close to the soil surface so it involved getting a digger in for the 20 new olive trees and 4 new pistacios; the other 16 or so young fruit and nut trees were going into existing holes. We are keen to diversify the trees grown at La Bolla and resist the mono-horticulture of just olive and almond trees, to the benefit (hopefully) of nature, wildlife and our tummies!! Our website has more info about the our project at La Bolla: https://www.labollapuglia.co.uk. We'd be delighted if you subscribed for the 3-weekly future episodes about renovation of this beautiful original stone lamia, energy and water self-sufficiency, land management of the 4-acre olive and fruit orchard and dry gardening. We are also on Instagram at @LaBollaPuglia and love getting your comments and questions. #biodiversity #soilhealth #landmanagement #trees #gardening #vlog #droughttolerant
