[HD] Nickel Plate Road 765: Chasing the Lehigh Gorge Special

All summer I was waiting for the time when I would visit Pennsylvania. That time came August 20th when I made the 6 hour drive to the Strasburg Railroad. After having a brief visit to the railroad due to heavy rains. I spent the following day trackside on the NS Harrisburg Line where I would catch many great trains. Prior to my departure for the Keystone State I was told that Nickel Plate Road 2-8-4 Berkshire #765 would be running excursions between Allentown and Pittston the weekend I was going to PA. That gave me the perfect opportunity to go and chase 765. So I did just that. Both days we chased it from Allentown to Pittston and back catching it at many great spots. Along the way I also caught some Reading & Northern action and some NS the second day. The weather was great each day, sunny with a few clouds here and there. It was definitely my favorite railfanning trip I've ever had and I will always remember it. The sights and sounds of a big steamer like 765 on a mainline is truly breathtaking and I enjoyed every second I was there. I hope you enjoyed the video of the famous 765.
