Over 500 civilians perished. Yet, from these ashes rose a vision described as "magisterial, audacious, and ultramodern." 🏗️ The Genesis of a Brutalist Icon: Built between 1955 and 1958, the Church of Notre-Dame de Royan was designed by architects Guillaume Gillet and Marc Hébrard, in collaboration with engineers Bernard Lafaille and later René Sarger.
