In this video I talk about how to apply for the Personal Independence Payment (PIP). I have personally claimed for PIP because I have a mental illness, therefore this video is from that perspective. However, the process is exactly the same when claiming for other health reasons so please watch this video. I really hope will help you. You can get Personal Independence Payment (PIP) if you’re aged 16 to 64 and have a long-term disability or health problem that means you need help with everyday tasks or getting around. This includes mental illness. This is for people in the UK only and only England, Wales and Scotland – the process is different for people in Northern Ireland). It doesn’t matter how much you earn, instead you’re assessed on your health. You’ll get between a minimum of £22 (standard rate) and a maximum of £141.10 (Enhanced Rate). (These were accurate at the time of the publication of this video) I hope that this video explains the PIP process and who is entitled to it. I will be talking about how to appeal the PIP process in a later video so please subscribe so you don't miss it. Thank you for taking the time to watch this - I hope to see you next time. Please subscribe to my channel for more videos about mental illness and leave any questions or comments you may have in the space below. Take care and I hope you have a safe, peaceful week. Gem x #TheLittleBluePot #PIP The Little Blue Pot Welcome to my YouTube channel where I’m hoping to raise awareness of mental illness and the different types of mental disorders to provide an understanding and learn ways to cope. I also vlog about my own experience of living with mental illness, as well as sharing other aspects of my life. I want to reduce the stigma around mental illness, raise awareness of the importance of good mental health, and I want to build a community where we can take care of each other. We need to raise awareness of mental illness and how to manage it, so I hope my channel helps you. I am not a qualified mental health professional or expert, but I am an expert in living with mental illness. All my videos are based on lots of research and I do my best to explain everything as clearly as possible and provide examples from my life to help you understand. I might not get it right every time, but I do the best I can. I hope the findings from my research are of benefit to you. This Vlog is from my perspective, but I do appreciate that not everyone will have had the same experience as myself - we are all different after all, even if we have the same diagnosis. I have also tried, where applicable, to reference everything correctly, but we are all human and make mistakes - please stick with me.
