Issara Academy webinars (more info and registration for all webinars at (https://www.issarainstitute.org/issar...) are aimed at providing worker-centric data, trends and insights on human rights and responsible recruitment in global supply chains, to drive critical conversations and learning exchange globally. In March 2020, Issara Institute released our 5-year impact report Assessing 5 Years of Impact and Trends in Worker Voice and Responsible Sourcing. This report chronicles the evolution of Issara and the change we are trying to drive in ethical sourcing and recruitment, including ending forced labour and human trafficking in global supply chains. Our impact report found that we are seeing promising results from our focus on empowering workers and transforming supply chains, particularly market-driven transformational change in labour recruitment systems. We have successfully remediated situations of labour abuse and exploitation for over 81,000 workers since 2016 – almost 20,000 of these being cases of forced labour - and documented real change over time toward more worker-driven ethical labour recruitment systems. However, there is a long way to go in seeing real change in the behavior and systems of government and business duty bearers, and real accountability, and an honest discussion of this is one of the objectives of this webinar.
