At approximately midnight, a speeding XUV 700 (TS 32 G 1888) lost control and crashed into Metro Pillar No. 97 in Medipally. Two engineering students, Sai Varun (20) and Nikhil (20), both natives of Wanaparthy district, died on the spot. Five other students were injured. Three of them—Venkat, Rakesh, and Yashwanth—are reported to be in critical condition, while three others (Satwik, Harshavardhan, and Abhinav) escaped with minor or no injuries. The students were reportedly travelling from Boduppal toward the Pocharam IT zone when the driver lost control of the high-speed vehicle.
