We start with a legendary lassi shop called Chacha Feeka, which has been around since 1947. Their lassi is made by blending yogurt with milk, then topping it with butter, cream, and sweetness. The tradition is to eat and drink the lassi at the same time. Next, we tried the famous Tawa Chicken at a restaurant named Arif Chatkhara. This was the spiciest Tawa Chicken I’ve had during my entire trip to Pakistan! They prepare a special sauce made with yogurt, cream, and spices. First, the chicken is barbecued, then it’s cooked on a hot tawa with the sauce and lots of green chilies. It’s super spicy, full of flavor, and definitely a must-try if you love spicy food. After that, we went to another restaurant right next to Arif Chatkhara: Phajja Siri Paye. This place has been running 24/7 since 1953. We tried their mutton siri paye along with mutton brain cooked in paye gravy. The broth was thick, rich, slightly salty, and infused with subtle spices. The mutton brain had a raw flavor that might not be for everyone, but the mutton paye was our favorite there.
