Krishnamoorthi and Lakshmi Krishnamoorthi) began learning Carnatic music at the age of six from Smt. Gayathri Mahesh. He later trained for over a decade under Vidushi Leelavathi Gopalakrishnan and her son Sri G. Srikanth, and received specialized instruction in Pallavi singing from Sri J. Venkatraman and Sri Srimushnam V. Raja Rao. Alongside completing a B.Com and the CA Intermediate course, he pursued a Master’s degree in Indian Classical Music at the University of Madras, graduating with a Gold Medal. He then undertook rigorous training under the late stalwart Sri P. S. Narayanaswamy and continues to be closely mentored by Sangeetha Kalanidhi Vidushi Dr. S. Sowmya. Today, Bharat Sundar is regarded as one of the most sought-after Carnatic vocalists, known for his firm grounding in tradition combined with originality and creativity. His diverse repertoire and performance style are noted for being expressive, imaginative, and emotionally rich. An A-Grade artist with All India Radio, he has performed extensively across India and abroad, earning numerous awards and recognitions throughout his career.
