I started posting in the middle of the night (12.a.m.) around June and I started to like the idea of posting on Facebook, when I would get the least number of likes, what have you. It seems there is a lot of judging going on these days, along with a lot of authoritative talk with intractable opinions. Well, if the 2016 election didn’t shake firm convictions, I am not sure what will. That said, if the 2016 election does not instill firm convictions, I don’t know what will. And, that said…..we’re at the end of the four years, and we are more divided than ever, with two very different ideas of truth. It has gotten to the point where the path to compromise and reconciliation seems rather remote. I am very uncomfortable with this. I promised no insight in a post I made earlier and I stand by that. Some reflection? sure, some beautiful music? I hope, something cathartic? Maybe just for me. Despite the current chaos I am not writing anything reflecting that, and offering instead, a 1 to 2 minute diversion. I was inspired by the great playing and interesting programing of the Canadian guitarist David Sossa, who’s been posting interesting pieces from Latin America. I think he proposed the question, “wouldn’t it be great to have more people play a piece from each South American country?” And I thought, “diablos ya!” So here is my offering tonight from Chile.
