Here is a diagram describing the whole setup : https://drive.google.com/open?id=1uqe... It's kinda different from my usual setup because of the DrumBrute. With my man Corny killing it on the drums I was able to get more voices from the Digitakt : the polyphonic synth in the intro (made with a howling wolf sample), the bass line (made with a plucky 0-Coast sample) and the choir sample at 2:13 (which Corny recorded a few days before at the St Martin-in-the-Fields church). I'm able to play the Digitakt polyphonically thanks to a Max MSP patch running on a nearby computer. I can toggle between the 3 sounds by selecting different MIDI channels on the Keystep. On the other side Corny is building that nasty beat on the DrumBrute. He records most parts separately and then uses the Mute/Solo modes and the Looper strip to create breakdowns and variations. He also changes the time division at the very end to create that slowed down outro. The DrumBrute is going through the Pralines pedal from Glou-Glou. It's on the whole time and adds some low frequencies, but it really shines during the outro : by switching between different sources of modulation, Corny gets some dubstep-like effects. We also used this during the interlude at 1:38 where I'm doing some sort of scratching effect. This is done with the Keystep Mod Strip controlling the modulation of the Pralines filters. Pretty fun! The DrumBrute also goes through the Deep Blue Delay pedal for the outro. In this jam the Ditto X4 looper was only used to record the PO-28 part that Corny is playing at 1:29. As usual, the looper is controlled by the Digitakt MIDI sequencer. The Digitakt sends CC messages that start and stop the recording of the loop. Everything was recorded on 4 separate tracks and then mixed/mastered in the DAW using Kramer MPX, Ozone 5 and L3 Ultramaximizer. I also added some reverb/delay and did some minor edits (like removing a kick and cleaning some guitar noises). I'm so happy we were able to do this, we had so little time! We literally recorded this 3 hours before Corny flew back to France. (Otto we missed youuuuu) And yo did you spot that fluffy tail hanging around at the beginning?
