Star gazers all over the world are having their view of the night sky increasingly disrupted by light pollution. In this talk, Dr. Daniel Mendoza illuminates how preserving dark skies through simple solutions can preserve energy, lower carbon emissions, and benefit wildlife and human health. Dr. Daniel Mendoza holds joint appointments as Research Associate Professor in the Department of Atmospheric Sciences and Adjunct Associate Professor in the Pulmonary Division in the School of Medicine, and the Department of City & Metropolitan Planning at the University of Utah. He quantifies the health effects of acute and chronic pollutant exposure. He is the Director of the Dark Sky Studies Minor and instructor of the Capstone Class at the University of Utah.
