I made Meat and Rice Bowl from Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. It's one of my favorite weeknight dishes, inspired by a great Philipino "tocino" method. My recipe isn't authentic by any stretch, but it's still very tasty. Here's how you make it! ✦ Subscribe: http://bit.ly/2keGDCn ✦ Twitter: / jammycooks89 Ingredients: 2 pounds pork shoulder 1 cup pineapple juice 3/4 cup brown sugar 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 tsp ground black and white pepper 1 tsp Togarashi Shichimi Special Rice: 1 TBL butter 2 cloves garlic, minced 1 cup short grain rice, washed and drained 2 cups water To Serve: Chili oil, as needed Salt + MSG, to taste Slice green onions, optional For meat: Slice pork shoulder into thin strips about a quarter centimeter thick. Place in a bowl with pineapple juice, sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic, pepper, and Togarashi Shichimi. Mix well to combine, then allow to marinate in the fridge for at least two days, and no more than three. After marinading, drain the meat of the juice, and if you wish, place on parchment-lined sheets. Freeze until solid, then store in ziptop bags in the freezer for up to four months. To Make Rice: Place butter in a large dutch oven. Once melted, add garlic and cook until fragrant, a few minutes. Add rice and cook until it’s slightly translucent. Add water, bring to a boil, then cover and simmer until rice is cooked about 20 minutes. To Cook Meat: Place a little chili oil in a non-stick pan. Once hot, add slices of meat and fry on both sides until golden and slightly charred, about five to eight minutes. Season to taste with salt and MSG.
