In this video we will discuss the big picture of the entire NBPTS process. Component 1 is the testing component and Tracey explains how the testing is administered using examples. Testing your ability to use the standards to construct lessons that meet the students needs. Component 2 is a case study and all of the certification areas are all different. This is your ability to meet students' needs in a differentiated way. Component 3 for the National Board is where you are videotaping yourself to show the big tool bag that you use to teach students and provide feedback. Components 1 and 3 are worth the most points. Tracey recommends beginning with component 4 because it makes you into an NBCT. Then you are behaving as a NBCT when you videotape yourself in Component 3.You will be a reflective teacher.
