Beautifully constructed Gramophone pickup marked "International". From the heavily Nickel plated, pressed brass construction, this Pickup appears to be of German origin. Produced only a decade or so after the end of WW1 , the Brit's were still consumed by ill feelings towards the German Nation & any products coming from this recent enemy had to be carefully badged if any buyers were to be found for them in the U.K A lot of effort has gone into the design of this unit which closely resembles the well known B.T.H "Cliftophone" pickup also from the end of the 1920's. Similarities include a pull off removeable head & a counter balancing internal spring but lacks the adjustable tonearm system on the B.T.H model. Internally the International is on-par with the V form magnet pickup from Marconi, with a very finely made armature / coil assembly & with every component highly finished, which is not the norm for this early electric period of home Audio. The rubber damping system is well designed & very adjustable & also logical to adjust for the first time, again, not the norm for this era. In summary, a really great find & is the only Pickup Iv'e so far encountered that went to the trouble of having the Logo made with a Genuine Glass Enamel technique. Sounds as good as it looks
