As we continue our study of the Sagegazers, we now turn our attention to Charles Townsend and Chris Faris. Faris and Townsend took their Blue Crystals to Vermont where they named their project after the star in the Virgo constellation where the Glimmerlight's Offworld Colony orbited. Thus was born the Zavijava Orchestra and the duo created their album Rivers of Light in 1986 (having joined the Mu-Psych Sagegazer collective).. . . . Rivers of Light showcased the exquisite meloldic and harmonic creations of Charles and Christopher. Their synergistic improvisational interplay was underscored by microcosmic attention to sound color and precisely defined rhythmic structures. . . . The Sagegazer has always puzzled over his origin. His genesis. Created by God? Or a product of technical evolution? If we could see yesterday and tomorrow at the same time, the origin and the end, the entire universe in a single moment, we might finally find answers to the biggest questions of all. What is the Sagegazer? Where does he come from? What drives him? What is his purpose?
