We are pleased to share our November G&T session, which took place online on Thursday 28th November with Alice Walker. Alice was invited to speak about her PhD research and the shift between professional and academic practice. Alice Walker is a PhD student at Oxford Brookes University in the School of the Built Environment. Her research looks at later life housing decision made through the lenses of identity, interaction and time. Alice began her working life as a carer in both domiciliary and residential settings before moving into acquired brain injury and then homelessness. Joining a Local Authority, she set up and ran a specialist advice service for people in later life with complex housing and care needs. She is currently a civil servant, working on environmental policy.
