If you want to make a buttercream that is great for piping, spreading, icing and frosting or decorating cakes, cupcakes, cookies and many desserts and pastries, this is it! I use this vanilla buttercream for piping roses and flowers, to swirl on desserts, and for filling and topping baking. With this icing, I've made homemade baking recipes look like fancy, bakery style desserts! It's the best! Made with simple ingredients: powdered sugar (confectioners, icing sugar), milk, unsalted butter and vanilla extract, all of which you probably have at home, there's no need to ever buy the can frosting! Since the main ingredient in this frosting is butter, use the best butter you can afford. When combined with a good vanilla, it can really makes a big difference in flavor. Delicious, creamy and very versatile, this frosting recipe is quick and easy to make and usually on more than one dish on my dessert menu. Made WITHOUT EGGS or SHORTENING *To change the flavor, add a different extract. *Food coloring can be added, as desired. I prefer gel.
