Unboxing and Weathering a Private Tank Car from B.Ringsted

AB stands for Amagerbanen which was a privately owned local railway company serving the island of Amager just South of Copenhagen. AB existed from 1907 to 1975 when the company was acquired by the Danish State Railways (DSB). Passenger traffic was ceased in 1947 but freight traffic continued up to the early 1990’s. A number of industries were located along AB including oil companies and chemical plants. One of these was the relatively small company B. Ringsted & Co. In the 1950’s the company had a single tank car in a somewhat unusual yellow and blue paint scheme. The model came out in September 2019 and is from Danish manufacturer Dekas. I have only given the model a very light weathering since the tank car was used to transport liquid solvents and the few existing pictures shows it being well kept.
