Vadim Koshkin, MD, UCSF, San Francisco, CA, highlights the significant impact of the Phase III EV-302 trial (NCT04223856), which demonstrated that the combination of enfortumab vedotin and pembrolizumab nearly doubled median overall survival for patients with metastatic urothelial carcinoma in the first-line setting. Despite these advancements, many patients are not cured, prompting the need for ongoing research into treatment intensification and de-intensification strategies. Biomarkers will be necessary to identify patient who may require more intensive treatment or who could benefit from a finite duration of enfortumab vedotin.
