MYSORE (Srirangapatna): The All India Milli Council central leadership under Bangalore chapter organised caravan to Srirangapatna from Bangalore. Caravan registered good turnout of Tippu admirers from mainly Bangalore, Ramnagara, Channapatna, Mandya and Mysore to be precise. Pan India representation of delegates made it an national event to observe 33rd year of the formation of Milli Council at Mysore that took its inspiration from a similar gathering of then political stalwarts, legal luminaries, intelectuals and ulemas in 1992. Today being Friday, there was a large congregation of Muslims who had gathered in large numbers at masjid-e-Aqsa within the compound of Gumbad e Shahi the Mesoleum of Tippu Sultan at Ganjam. There was a brief address from the sanctum of the mosque to rekindle the organisation with which it was formed with new vigour and renewed strength to keep the orgainsation with the spirit of never to die. This was followed by brief address by Mufti Umar Abedeen, Working President of All India Milli Council Moulana Aneesur Rahman Qasmi and Mysore MLA Tanveer Sait followed by brief supplication by Aneesur Rahman Qasmi. The delegation later visited Gumbaz and paid rich trbute to the tiger of Mysore Hazrath Tipu Sultan. The event was coordinated by the local office bearers of Millli Council from Bangalore and Mysore. Those at the helm were of the opinion that "we are experiencing a period of uncertainty and bigotry, under these circumstances it becomes all the more important to follow the footsteps of Tippu Sultan that kept spirit of India in high esteem", said the organizers in conformity with each other. The three day event will mark solid presence of intellectuals, legal luminaries including Prashant Bhushan from Delhi on Sunday. The caravan today gave a clear message to facist ideologs against dividing India on communal lines and warned against the tirade of bigotry to kill the very essence of Indian hood.
